Dear Coeur du Christ Families,
The Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ thirsts for communion with your hearts and the hearts of your children. He calls for Coeur du Christ Academy and you, the parents, to partner in the authentic Catholic formation of your children. Here at Coeur du Christ, we want to answer that call by joining with you in the intellectual, moral, aesthetic, social, physical, practical, and—most importantly—spiritual formation of your children.
As we join in together toward such a noble end, I want to express my gratitude for your “yes.” In such a dark world, Christian community striving together for noble ends is the light that can only brighten the world if we say “yes” to that call. Along with the Board of Directors and the rest of the faculty, I am honored to join with you in raising your teens as Saints.
St. Augustine famously said that our hearts are restless until they rest in God. “School” comes from a Greek word that means “leisure.” The purpose of our school is to form each student into the kind of Christian who rests, who takes leisure in the Triune God. We find our identity and mission in His Son, who became incarnate of the Blessed Virgin Mary, suffered, died, and rose again from the dead for each of us. Jesus is both Truth (John 14:6) and Teacher (John 1:38).
In pursuit of this Truth, and in imitation of this Teacher, we hope to guide Coeur du Christ students toward God’s will for their lives. This Truth has been handed down for centuries throughout western civilization in an unbroken tradition through the harmony of faith and reason. Coeur du Christ Academy students are initiated into this tradition through the handing on of healthy Christian culture, rigorous academic inquiry, and a communal life characterized by pious devotion.
As Headmaster of Coeur du Christ, I am honored to partner with you, the parents, in this initiation of your children. It is a joy to share in the common goal of raising them to be Saints! Join with me in praying for the success of this school. For us parents, faculty, and Board, success means that the heart of each and every student achieves that holy union with the heart of Christ and rests in Him forever.
Christus in corde omnium!
